WE ARE HIRING: Ecological Monitoring Coordinator, Mwai, Mozambique

The Fundação para o Desenvolvimento Sustentável e Conservação (FDSC), Conserve Global’s national entity in Mozambique, is looking for an Ecological Monitoring Coordinator to join the team in Matutuíne District.

Mwai is a community-led wildscape. Six villages chose conservation as their preferred land use. The next step is evidence: knowing what’s changing on the ground, and why.

The coordinator will design and run ecological and socio-economic monitoring across the Mwai Community Conservation Area, working with the FDSC team, Conserve Global’s Impact Team, and the Associação Comunitária Para Conservação – Corredor Futhi (ACCCF). The work covers fieldwork, data management using tools like SMART, EarthRanger, and GIS, mentoring community monitors, and turning results into reports that guide decisions.
You’ll need a degree or diploma in conservation, environmental science, ecology, or a related field, 3–5 years’ monitoring experience, English, Portuguese, and Changana or another local language, and a valid driving licence.

This is a permanent, full-time role based at Massale. Applicants must be Mozambican citizens, residents, and members of the Mwai Community Association. Preference will be given to applicants from the Association’s six villages.

To apply, send your CV, a cover letter (PDF), and two referees to musa.mbatha@fundsc.org by 17:00 (CAT) on 16 October 2026, or hand them in at the Association’s office in Salamanga.

Do you know someone in Mwai who should see this? Please pass it on.
